END OF TERM BALL

Cat chuckled. "If your a clone, you are a very pretty clone," she replied with a smile. "I mean look at your hair, and oh your dress is lovely."

Cat remembered she told everyone she'd be right back. "Do you want to go to the refreshment table? Me and Becca kind of started a group back there and I said I'd be right back. Your welcome to join."

Marie blushed lightly, smiling back. "Thank you so much, you look great too," she said sincerely.

She glanced over to the refreshment table, looking at the people who were assembled here and shrugging lightly. "Sure, why not?" she said.

Cat smiled. "Thanks," she replied.

Cat's smiled turned into a grim. "Yay, this night is getting more fun every second," she spoke as she linked arms with Marie, leading her to the refreshment table.

When they reached the group, she smiled and everyone. "Back," she spoke. "And I brought my friend Marie too."

Marie followed Cat to the refreshment table, her chewing-lip habit returning instantly.

"Hey," she told the group with a small smile, her fingers playing with a strand of her hair.

Spotting Marie and Cat at the refreshment table, Kate nearly broke out in a run to join them. If she was holding a drink then she couldn't very well dance, now could she?

"Hello, ladies! Mind if I hide out here?" she asked

Justin nervously opens the Great Hall and peers in. Multi-colored streamers are placed wall to wall, music is playing in the background, balloons everywhere, and a food table is where the High Table is usually. He decides to give it a try and walks in.

Dressed to the nines in a tuxedo he usually reserves for marriages, funerals, communions and baptisms, Justin had even turned his normally black cummerbun and vest into a nice shade of blue with streaks of bronze running through.

Still wondering why he's here, he peers around, looking for anyone he might know.

Marie grinned widely as she saw Kate approaching. "Kate!" she greeted her, waving slightly. "I love your dress."

She laughed slightly at her question. "Not at all, hide all you want," she said.

Kate smile warmly at Marie. She loved Marie's french accent, she always sounded so posh.

"You're dress is lovely as well. So have I missed anything yet? I'm not dancing until Thriller plays!"

"Hello, Marie, It's nice to meet you. You look wonderful, I love your dress," Jordanna says, smiling.
Noticing Justin enter, she shouts over the loud music, "Hey, Justin!"

Marie laughed at Kate's comment. "Thriller, now that's a dance I wouldn't mind joining," she giggled.

"You haven't missed anything yet I think," she said, taking a swift peek around. "Or if you have, I have too."

She turned to Jordanna, smiling. "Thanks, it's nice to meet you too," she said.

As Justin looks around, he spots Jordanna shouting and waving to him. He ambles his way, a bit awkwardly, on over to her.

"Hey there, Jordanna!" he nearly screams in her ear. "Why does all party music have to be so loud?"

Cat smiled at the new comer. "Hi Kate, I am Cat. By the way your dress is adorable."

"Dancing?" Cat asked jokingly. "You to can't be thinking of dancing. I mean dancing at a ball. So unheard of." Cat chuckled.

"I don't know," she screamed back at him, flicking her hair out of her face. "I'm not a big party person."

"Same. I prefer my studies over some silly dancing. Hm, what do you say to seeing if we can, er, up the music to something more... sane?" Justin shouted back.

Realizing, too, that there are other people talking with Jordanna, he smiles and nods. "Er, hi there. You're in my house, aren't you?", he asks Kate.

Suddenly she spots some ravenclaws shouting at each other over the noise. She walked towards them to see what they were shouting about.

"I agree. What is the point of going to balls, really?" she said, smiling at him. "Yes, sane would be wonderful. This music is starting to give me a headache."

"Hi Jordanna, what are you guys shouting about?"

Justin gives a departing wave to all in the group and beckons Jordanna to follow. He heads toward the food table, where the source of music seems to be coming from.

"Now let's see here..." he mutters to himself.

Justin looks at the Muggle musical device and punches buttons randomly, hoping for some good ol' country.

...Kenny, Keith, Alan and Patsy Cline. I'm a full grown Queen Bee looking for honey. Wahooohooo, now, play something country!

"Ah, much better, don't you think?" Justin turns to Jordanna.

Ingrid saw Justin and Jordanna press some buttons and suddenly the music wasn't as loud as before, also it became country music. Grinning she saw some people look up confused.

"Hey! How're you doing?" Jordanna asked, smiling at Ingrid. "We were just talking about the music-It's giving me a terrible headache!"

Jordanna followed Justin to the table, watching as he pushed some button and country music started to play.
"Much better!" she said to him. "I love this song."

"Hi, do you like this kind of music better" she asked about the country music "It's not as loud as the other one."

"Much better now. Not as random as dance music is, don't you think?" he looks to Jordanna and grins to the confused folks.

Justin turns to Ingrid and nods. "Personally, I do. One of my personal superpowers is the ability to countrify anything I touch. Or that's what I think I do." Justin has a guilty look on his face.

Raising an eyebrow she grinned, "Really? A superpower?"

"I agree. Dance music is fine once and a while but you can't beat country," she said, smiling and looking out at the confused crowd.

"Mmmhmm. Some are able to charm others. Some can run quickly. I consider mine to be more musical though. Music is one of those simple forms of art that are amazing. Are you a country fan yourself?", he asks Ingrid.

"Somewhat, I like a different kinds." she replied "I like to try new things"

Justin's head whips up as he hears the intro to one of his favorite country dancing songs.

As if in a trance, Justin walks away from the two ladies and aims for the dance floor, which hasn't been used as of yet.

And laugh and joke about me on the phone

Justin proceeds to break out in the Electric Slide to the cult favorite "Achy Breaky Heart".

Kate turned and waved to Justin, the Ravenclaw newbie who was fast becoming a familiar face around HE.

Turning back to Cat and Marie she said, "Justin wants to switch to country, which normally doesn't thrill me, but at this point anything other than what''s playing would be a welcome change!"

Downing the rest of her punch she silently lamenting that it wasn't spiked.

"Okay, who's up for square dancing?" Not waiting for an answer she dragged Cat and Marie onto the dance floor, and proceded to docie doe.

Looking slightly confused, Ingrid watched as Justin seem to go into as trance and seem to 'sleep' walk to the dance floor and started dancing

Jordanna watched as Justin started the electric slide. "What's the point of coming if I wasn't going to dance?" She asked, mostly to herself. She shrugged and walked onto the dance floor.

Looking around Ingrid saw Kate had started square dancing and decided to join in.

Justin cheers Kate, Jordanna, and Ingrid on for joining in the line dance and tries to waves for everyone else to join.

"Just give it a shot! It's not too bad. Let the music seep through your pores... it's electric!"

Cat noticed the country music and squeed. She hadn't heard country music in forever.

Cat chuckled as Kate dragged her and Marie onto the dance floor. She was probably rusty on her line dancing, but she attempted anyway. She got the hang of it after a couple seconds.

Cat began singing along as she danced.

He might blow up and kill this man."

Kate is experiencing painful flashbacks of learning to country line dance to this song in high school, but like the experienced pro she is she manages to repress those haunting memories.

Instead she joins in singing, her voice loud and wildly offkey.

People now are looking at her like maybe they think the punch was spiked afterall.

Cat was enjoying this. Oh how she felt like a little girl in the country again. Back in the days when she was blond and road in wagons attached to lawnmowers and on billie goats. Those were the days.

Cat smiled as she sang when Kate began singing with her. She then got a great idea and accioed her cowboy hat from her common room. She knew she would have a chance to use it again some day.

Suddenly Ingrid saw a cowboy hat fly by and watched as it went towards Cat. She grinned and suddenly got an idea and transfigured some decorations

Kate laughed as Cat put on her cowboy hat. This dance was beginning to look like an episode of Hee Haw.

Kate broke away from the dance floor and made her way to the DJ booth. She had a few galleons in her purse and was prepared to use it to bribe the DJ to play Men in Hats' " The Safety Dance".

"Phew, now that was fun, ya'll... wasn't it? See, country music isn't so bad. And I must say, that's a mighty fine hat, miss." Justin laughs with the ladies who had danced the past few minutes to Billy Ray Cyrus.

Calming down a bit and letting Kate take over musical tastes, he checks out the refreshment table and sees if anything loosk appealing, also wondering whether or not more will be joining.

"Fun, yes. I don't think I've danced like that in years," Jordanna says, laughing and walking off the dance floor. She plops down into one of the chairs in the corner.

Etta stepped into the great hall, fidgeting with her sleek, Parisian black silk dress. Her hand moved slowly to her head, checking for the hundreth time that her black hair was still in place in its ringlet knot on the back of her head.

Taking a deep breath and wondering if she had done the right thing by leaving the Hufflepuff office, Etta's blue eyes roamed the hall feverishly watching her house members and praying they were behaving.

i hope none of them stole the last eight bottles of firewhiskey she thought to herself before gliding out on to the dance floor, tonight she was just Etta, tonight she had worries, tonight she was going to party like she'd never partied before.

Caro dashed to the Great Hall, falling over the table with drinks. She quickly stumbled back up and waved at the staring crowd, giving them a dashing smile.

"Sorry I'm late, I got my invitation just now... well, I read it now!" she explained and hurried towards the rum.

She grabbed the bottle and hugged it. "Oooh, I've missed you a lot, lot, lot, lot, lot, lot!"

Etta spotted Caro and ran at her fast, tackling her and the bottle to the ground in a mass huggle.

"Oh you bad owl! I've missed you!" squealed Etta as she dragged Caro back to her feet and handed her more bottles.

Out of the corner of her eye, Etta spotted a small first year edging cautiously towards the drink table. She glared at the little first year who ran away in the opposite direction causing Etta to burst into a giggling fit.

Polly walked into the great hall slightly late. Her black hair was tied up in lose curls and she was waring a pale green dress. Smiling she looked around for someone to talk to.

Etta was back on the dance floor, her dress trailing behind her as she shimmered and shaked her way across the floor, dancing with anyone and everyone.

Chelle half ran up the steps to the great hall and flicked her invitation over to the door men as she entered the magificant room, her gold dress flowing perfectly around her as she darted her eyes around the room. She quickly saw fellow Hufflepuff Etta, her head of house, and made a beeline towards her.

"Am I the last one to arrive?" she asked quietly as she poured herself a drink.

Ramiela entered the Great Hall, her eyes immeditaley scanning over the decorations. She had to admit, whoever made up the hall did a fantastic job! She unconciously twirled a strand of her brown hair around her index finger nervously and glanced around.

It was pretty crowded already, but she couldn't anyone that she knew. She huffed a small breath, causing her bangs to flutter and started for the refreshment table to grab some pumpkin juice.

Etta smiled at Chelle.

"Nah, i think more people will come, come along dear, you haven't been inducted offically into Hufflepuff hehe," giggled Etta, dragging her fellow badger to the floor. "BADGERS TO THE FLOOR!" she boomed before quickly ordering the band into playing the Hufflepuff House song.

"Okay you have to do the badger dance it goes like this," Etta said hitching up her dress. "Now we go, stomp stomp twirl to the elft, clap, rock star pose, stomp stomp twirl to the right, Badger nibble, fists to the left, fists to the right and a six back flips, and finally," Etta said breathlessly as she performed the badger dance. "We do this, BADGERS FIGHT!" and with that the small raven head jumped into the air, punching it for joy and cheering like a hyperactive cheerleader.

"Come on, come on, EVERYONE!" she squealed.

Chelle laughed and tried to follow Etta's moves on the dance floor, tripping over her two left feet as she laughed and shouted out the Hufflepuff pride
